In the era of information and great changes, the question of the life of the elderly implies a systemic view of the issue because it not only refers to the current conditions of those who are advancing in their life cycle towards the state of greater wisdom and maturity, but also encompasses the question of the bonds we have with the meaning of old age for the development of the family and society.

The extensive experience of COMPENSAR and DDA in studying the subject contributes to the consolidation of a perspective that guides the way in which the experience of inhabiting the place where the project is planned to be developed should be understood. Ultimately, any human intervention in an existing site aims to generate a landscape to inhabit the world, to read our senses, and to write leaving traces on it.

“The landscape is not what we see, but what we are. Rogelio Salmona.”
This master plan aims to integrate at all conceptual levels and spatial domains, in order to form a unified and macro strategy that serves as a guideline for the growth and use of the COMPENSAR headquarters in Fusagasugá.

An ecosystem that brings together services and allies, all gravitating around ecological spaces with dynamics oriented towards well-being and comprehensive sustainability, generating impact and transformation in rurality and in the lives of the elderly and their families, to consolidate as a blue zone that evolves over time.

The Elderly Center in Fusagasugá is the materialization of a theoretical, practical, and investigative path within the institution. Its purpose is to “Attend to the elderly people of Compensar throughout the aging process, guaranteeing their life project, their well-being, their health, through the coordination of services between the Fund and Health.

COMPENSAR’s commitment to well-being and the Integrated Care Ecosystem for the Elderly planned, are understood as strategic lines to follow to weave the different components of the plan to ensure that the future inhabitants of the project can age:
- Actively
- Healthily
- Participating and contributing
- Forming and educating
- Under safe conditions
The aim of the place is to bring activity out into the landscape. Activities that integrate with the rurality of the area make natural elements stand out. The service provided must be personalized without becoming exclusive. The care and activities to be offered must go hand in hand with Rurality and Place, as it is a space where one will learn to age and rest; without losing the vigor of each person.
