Border the city with the river.

This project is part of a consultancy carried out with our allied companies JFP and Associates and Greener Cities, for the Mayor’s Office of Villavicencio. Its main structural objective was a pre-feasibility study for a Partial Plan for a polygon bordering the Guatiquía River. However, beyond real estate aspects, the value proposition is to transform this area into a new face of the city, as has happened in different Colombian cities and in other latitudes, where rivers become the backbone of urban life.

Consequently, the creation of a riverfront is recognized as the main objective of urban intervention, with public space as the central axis of the entire proposal.

From the general to the specific, the urban proposal aims to generate a system that integrates, with the possibility of creating new spaces and forming a network of public spaces that act as a mechanism for activation, regeneration, renewal, and valorization of this urban piece.

The strategy is to weave from the continuous and mobile condition of water that incorporates all spaces near the riverbanks. From the roofs of buildings, courtyards, ground floors, sidewalks, streets, and squares; all parts are interconnected by water droplets that serve as a pretext to unite this urban piece of fragments and discontinuities into a whole, which needs to be unified to enhance the landscape and the llanera culture it supports.
