Claudia Velandia invited us to participate in an analysis of the downtown area and the possibility of generating a systemic understanding of how Universidad del Rosario could have a more prominent positive impact on the development of the downtown area. From this analysis, it was understood that the challenge was to make education extend beyond the boundaries of classrooms, spreading from the campus to the city, while simultaneously encouraging the integration of landscape, citizenship, and their activities into the university’s various buildings. As a result of this strategy, several projects have been developed to reaffirm the commitment to remain in the downtown area and contribute to its sustainability. The proposed strategy aimed to extend academic activity into the campus surroundings while bringing cultural activities from the city into the university buildings, breaking the concept of an isolated campus and promoting greater permeability to enhance urban context, fostering improvements in civic culture, care, security perception, activity, and consequently enhancing the value of the surroundings and the campus itself through a notion of Rosarista urban pedagogy.
